So....this is Bath

Dear Readers

I am VERY sorry for my fecking crap blogging of late. This is due to the fact that now I am being paid to work 9-5 every weekday I feel it would be rude to spend my usual 2 hours midday typing bollocks for this page. But, I am trying to rectify this piffling performance, and here is my first attempt:

I know many of my friends who read this have already come to visit my new home in Bath but for those of you who haven't had the privilege of gracing the most amazing home in Somerset I thought I would take some photos so you can imagine you were here.....

First of all; the town:

Bath from above
The view from the hill above my house; just before sunset.

Band stand
A posh garden in the centre of Bath that you have to pay to sit in. Chavs congregate there in the evenings taunting the Police. The good thing about Bath is that we pay so much council tax that if the Police actual catch the little fu*kers they are allowed to hang them! Great!

The views from my flat:

County Cricket Ground
From our living room, looking out the back of our house. To the right (out of the shot) is Bath rugby ground.

Balloons from the window
Same shot, but on a sunny summers evening. I love living in Bath!

Blurry
The view out of the front of my flat from my bed(room) window.

Inside:

Nurton's empire
Nurton's room. Note Strongbow can. Post university.... nothing changes!!!

Wide open space
My housemate Rob's room. Note that it is much bigger than mine but he has no stuff as he is from New Zealand. Fairness doesn't come into the equation when you are the "new" housemate. Grrr! Doesn't really bother me as my room fits all my stuff and is marginally nearer the bathroom. Marginally.

Living room
The living/dining/drawing/ironing/TV room. Since this photo was taken it has been graced with a new £30,000+ bespoke "drinks table", but that is a story for another post!

Darker room
The living room from the other end. If you look hard you might be able to spot the ironing board in the background. This is a first for Nurton. Amazingly I have become strangely addicted to ironing. Am I gay?

Food room
This is where my microwave magic takes place. It is small but is actually the best kitchen I have ever used as everything is at hand when you are cooking.

That's enough photos for now. Hope you have enjoyed the photo tour.

Yes. Small kitchens are way, way better. Most importantly, they are easy to clean, and you don't have enough space to make a gigantic mound of unwashed utensils, unfinished food, grimy cutlery and sauce-encrusted crockery.

(Or rather, someone else doesn't have enough space to make a gigantic mound of...)

This means that not only is everything to hand, it's usually clean, and you can't lose it in a huge array of cupboards either.

On the downside, you don't get much exercise. Mum's kitchen is big, and you find yourself forever wandering from one end to the other with a saucepan, or a potato, or something like that in your hand. That's got to be healthy.

Loving the pad, Nurton. Also, may I say you are looking very well in the ironing board photo.

I am also a keen ironer, to the extent that yesterday a purchased a new cover for our ironing board in an attempt to limit the negative effect on my ironing of a a lump in the middle of our board. While me also liking ironing does not rule out it being a sign of latent homosexuality, I do point out I have maintained a girlfriend for over 3 years now (bar an month gap, during which time I remained 100% hetero).

Sorry I had the indecency to be away last time you were in my neck of the woods, but keep keeping me posted about any visits to the big smoke.

How much stuff do you have in your room?! The New Zealander's room looks three times the size of yours.

I hate ironing. Does that make ME gay?

Bath looks fantastic. Charming, full of character. It looks almost as nice as Chaska, Minnesota! ;)

BTW, that new banner is the Minneapolis skyline. I like it but think the feel is not quite right for my site. Still working with the webmaster (my brother) on the format.

Mark, I will be up in Londinium on the 2nd December if you fancy a night out, I'm going to turnmills with some friends. (In Darkie's words; "The kind of club that Hannah Norrish wouldn't like, therefore a good club"). Let me know ASAP if you want to go so we can get you on the guest list. Else maybe we can meet for breakfast on the Saturday morning?

Noel.

Bandick,

In answer to your two questions:

- Not sure how to quantify an answer to this. A guest the answer is 'four times as much as Rob (my flatmate). It's an injustice I know!!!
- Possibly.
