7/7 London Bombings
Just a quick post, as I feel my worldwide readership will probably want to hear what it's like to live in newest country to be affected by international terrorism....
I must say that on Thursday that despite being over 30 miles from the bombing and in no risk whatsoever, that I still felt as if I was being attacked. When people start setting off bombs in your country, suddenly there is an overwhelming urge to find out where they came from and bomb the shit out of them. For the first time I truly understand the reaction of the Americans post 119. After 11th September I remember feeling rather neutral towards the yanks as it was quite obvious as an external observer that they had been stirring up a hornet’s nest in the middle east for many years with a foreign policy that had all the finesse of Postman Pat's driving over a humped-back-bridge. I think that I still stand by that opinion. After all if there is one thing that any intelligent human being knows when it comes to solving a problem is that it is a waste of time and effort to try and solve the problem that presents itself, instead you should always be looking for the root cause as eliminating that is the only way of removing the problem for good. Contrary to popular opinion "Osama's training camps in Afghanistan" were not the reason that these people hate the West.
Anyway, so now that we have been attacked, I feel angry and I feel revengeful. But taking a step back and looking at the situation objectively there is only one thing that can be said about the situation: "You can't say we didn't provoke them".
As George and Tony keep reminding us, we are at war. What many of the modern population seem not to understand is that when you are at war the people you are targeting tend to fight back. We should not be surprised. This does not mean we should let them win. I wonder where this will end? What are your thoughts?
PS: And the most frightening thing about all this; is that I am starting to sound like George Galloway!!! Arghhh!!!!!

I doubt very, very, very much if the bombers were Iraqis. I was not talking about the war on Iraq, rather the war on terror.
Do not burry your head in the sand and convince yourself that these people want to blow us up just because they are raving mad. Everybody is provoked. I'm not saying that I agree with the terrorists, but it is plain stupid to say we'll eliminate all the terrorists in the world now with and that new ones won't EVER spring up to hate the west.
Oh and it's not really about religion for two reasons:
- If it was, all Muslims would hate us
- They have Buddhist and Hindus much closer to Afghanistan if they wanted somebody to attack for not being Muslim.
You seem to be falling into the trap of thinking the US does nothing wrong. I certainly don't believe that of any country.
