This weekend
On Friday I didn't have much to do which actually made a nice change as I hadn't been sleeping well due to the hot weather. My only activity of note was to play 6-a-side for Dan's team to cover for Leon in their last ever league game. I am not exactly a naturally gifted footballer, but I played some of the best football of my university career, which was nice as it could well be the last time in a long while that I get the opportunity to play football.
Friday night I treated my liver to some well deserved abstinence. I treated my mind to some reading. I treated my body to an early night. Other than the sore muscles from the football I felt much fresher on Saturday than I had for a week or so. It's amazing what a break from partying can do!
Saturday was a little sad as I said goodbye to some of my good friends who headed back home. Nick came back with her boyfriend, Matt. Also Caroline who used to live here last year has come back with her sister. Phil has gone up to Liverpool to visit his girlfriend. So in the space of 12 hours our house has gone from being a male stable to a hive of girly dominated busyness. I'm sure I can cope with the change.
As I am sure you can gather from the amount of blogging that went on last night that I didn't have anything better to do. Although I do think it is deeply sad to spend an entire Saturday evening at my computer blogging, listening to music and watching DVD's, I'm glad I did this as it will be nice to look back at what I got up in the last 2 weeks. Especially while I'm struggling to pay back my overdraft!
Next week should be a little less stressful, so far on the itinerary is the main campus summer ball, a trip to the Eden Project and meeting up with some long lost friends from the first and second years. Should be good!
[Edit] - I forgot to mention that I completed the Samurai Su Doku in 47 minutes (a minute more than recommended) on Saturday night. I didn't get stuck once and wasn't by any means rushing. I look forward to next week's as the tactic I employed this week obviously worked very well. Oooooo how exciting!
