Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside
First thing on Thursday morning I walked into town to pick up a few essentials that I needed. By the time I was walking back home (~10:30) it was already baking hot outside, definitely the hottest day this week. My route home takes me past the new shop in our neighbourhood; The Gear Garrison. If you take a look at their website you will see that they are a shop that specialises in all the things that somebody with an unhealthy interest in firearms* would be interested in. I don't really understand why they thought that a shop of this nature would make any money stuck in the middle of a student ghetto. I have never seen a single person in the shop, which is not exactly surprising. When I walked past on Thursday one of the shopkeepers was standing outside sunning himself. What on earth made them think that a round middle aged man (who's corporate T-shirt was not quite strong enough to prevent his sizable tummy from escape) propped up against the door would be an encouragement for people to enter their shop, I have no idea!
After returning home I jumped into the car, picked Anna up and we headed off to the seaside. Anna is a really good friend of mine who I met at university. In the second year she was one of my only friends who would bother to walk the 45 minutes from Student Ville to my house. Unfortunately due to the amount of work and other shit that has happened this year we have only managed to meet up about once a term. So it was really nice to spend a relaxed day together catching up on old times.

Anna on the beach at Dawlish, the sea was certainly warm enough to paddle in.
We walked alongside the railway line to Dawlish and then back again.

A view looking towards Dawlish from a big rock. At the bottom of the rock was stall selling ice creams. I had a 'twister'. Anna had a ‘Mini Milk’ that cost 50p!!!!! When I was little 50p would buy you……..
Another very enjoyable day, I wish the rest of my life could be as much fun and as stress free as this!
