Intelligent Police = Oxymoron?

Two stories this week have made me wonder whether or not the police recruit all their best brains from De Montfort University.

The gay horse with feelings

This story is an example of a preposterous waste of police time and effort, not to mention the poor pisshead who spent a night in the cells. In another article on the story the student was quoted as saying "I was pissed out of my head". Join the club mate!

Post-a-Pet

This story is probably not supposed to be entertaining, but I am not exactly very good at hiding my amusement of other people's or creature's misfortune. What really makes me laugh about this story is that the police seem to say that they have no clues as to who did this. So here I am going to give them a tip..... "There is an address on the front of an envelope." If this was a practical joke I would have thought that the address would be a good point to start their enquiries. Alternatively if that doesn't work they could always see if student in the story above can communicate with Hamsters as well as Horses.
