Seems I'm set to be a LOSER for a while to come
The dictionary states the definition of 'Loser' as "One that fails consistently, especially a person with bad luck or poor skills"
Well I think that losing 3 - 0 in squash two weeks running to a guy I used to be able to beat playing left handed (well maybe that's not 100% true), warrants a feeling of doom.
What if this is it? Did I reach my sporting peak last term and am now heading into this perpetual valley of failure?
Of course I have my excuses as to why I lost yesterday:
- I was unfit. Not really an excuse, more of a reason.
- My back started to really hurt after the first game. This was for real and not just a distraction technique to try and make Diggs go easy on me. This has happened before. It seems I have the bad back of 50 year old. If my back is aging at this rate it is only a matter of time before the rest catches up! ANOTHER reason to marry early. If I wait till I am 35 I could well be the owner of a "shop mobility cart"!
- I kept missing the ball. I think this was the factor that contributed most to my defeat.
To summarise: I wasn't beaten as I believe to be 'beaten' you have to put up a fight. It was more a case of the:
"Blade of grass" Vs "The lawnmower"
The result was inevitable. A sad day..

yeah, take it in stride. You had an off day. When you don't feel your best, you can't play your best.
And about the back, please learn from my experience: make sure whether you live with someone or marry them, they have a *concern* about your pain. Get someone who wants to give you a massage (and as many as possible)!
Having a bad back is no fun. I'm older than you but I see one similarity: mass consumption of Diet sodas. Not great for the digestion.
Since I have back pain, I wanted to make sure my husband would never suffer the same. So guess who was giving all the massages? The person who needed 'em most.
So my friend nurton, just don't hook up with someone who is selfish!! They won't be interested in your aches + pains or the big stuff either.
Unsolicited advice, I admit. But it may come in handy someday.
:)
Owwwww. It still hurts!
PS: Marry a massager, good advise. There's an advert for one (well many actually) in my local phone box.
